If you remove a payment gateway, all new transactions will be routed to any other active gateways you have configured on your site.
Recurly routes transactions to other gateways based on the accepted card type and currency. Beyond those settings, the transaction will be sent to the gateway that was added first to the account. For more control, you can utilize Recurly's Custom Gateway Routing functionality to specify which gateway is used per transaction.
We do not recommend completely removing a payment gateway. If you need to issue refunds for payments that were processed through that gateway in the past, you must have it active on your account to do so. A better option is to disable new transaction processing in the gateway's configuration options, which will keep it available for refunds.
