The refund period for a transaction is generally 30-60 days from the date the transaction occurred, but this will vary depending on the customer's bank and your payment gateway.
If a transaction falls outside of this refund period, an alternative would be to issue the refund via another method outside of Recurly, such as a check.
In these situations, you can use the Account Notes section in the Recurly Admin Console to document the process. The Account Notes section is located at the bottom right-hand side of your customer's account page. You can use it to outline the alternative refund method you took (e.g., issuing a check) so that other site users will be able to reference that information when viewing the account.
