Can Recurly Use Multiple Payment Gateways and Route Transactions?

Yes, Recurly is designed to easily accommodate and manage multiple payment gateways, allowing you to route transactions strategically. Since Recurly stores all billing and subscription information, it provides the flexibility to connect and manage various gateways as needed.

Gateway Hierarchy: For accounts with multiple gateways configured, Recurly processes payments according to a specific hierarchy.

Enabling and Disabling Gateways: You can enable or disable a payment gateway at any time to control transaction flow. To do this, navigate to Configurations > Payment Gateways in the Recurly Admin Console, select your desired gateway, and from the "Options" dropdown, select "Edit Gateway." From there, you can choose Enabled or Disabled as its status.

Custom Gateway Routing (Custom Plans): Merchants on Recurly’s Custom plans also gain access to our Custom Gateway Routing functionality. This advanced feature allows you to route specific transactions to a desired payment gateway using a gateway code or identifier, providing even finer control over your payment processing.
