Why Can't I Refund a Voided Payment in Recurly?

Once a payment has been voided in Recurly, any monetary value associated with that transaction is essentially zeroed out. This means that attempting a refund directly through Recurly will no longer be possible because there's no value left for the transaction to return.

In these situations, we recommend refunding the transaction directly through your payment gateway or externally via methods like wire transfer or ACH.
