How do I set up my storefront with Recurly Commerce?

Use the Recurly Commerce widget to let customers choose subscription options directly from your product pages. The widget matches your Shopify theme and can be customized to fit your brand.

Before you begin

• You must have at least one active subscription plan published.

• Works only with Shopify themes. For custom themes, create a backup first.

Install the widget

1. In the Recurly Commerce app, go to the Storefront tab.

2. Back up your Shopify theme (or create a duplicate).

3. Select your current Shopify theme from the dropdown.

4. Check “I have backed up my theme files.”

5. Click Enable. This opens the Shopify theme editor.

6. In the editor, click Save in the top right corner to install.

7. Go back to the Recurly Commerce app. Wait for the loading bar to complete.

8. When finished, you’ll see a green Published badge.

9. Visit a product page with an active subscription to confirm the widget is live.

Customize the widget

After installation, you can adjust the look and feel to match your brand:

• Text labels – Change button or message text (e.g., “Subscribe” to “Join the Club”)

• Option order – Drag and drop to reorder subscription and one-time options

• Styling – Change colors, fonts, and spacing to match your store

Once you're done, click Save and Publish to push changes live.
