If you've decided to discontinue using the Recurly service, you can typically close your site directly from the Recurly Admin Console. However, please note that for some merchants who are under contract, the "Close Your Site" option may not be available. In such cases, you will see a "Contact Support" button instead, and you will need to reach out to our Support team or connect with your Account Manager to proceed with site closure.
For sites where the "Close Your Site" option is available, it's highly recommended to take several precautions to ensure all billing and notifications cease for any subscriptions still being processed before initiating the closure.
Steps to Close Your Site (if available):
-
In the Recurly Admin Console, go to Admin.
-
At the bottom left-hand side of the page, click on Recurly Account.
-
Select Close Your Site.
Recommended Precautions Before Closing:
To prevent any further communication to your clients and ensure billing stops for active subscriptions, follow these steps before initiating the site closure:
-
Disable All Payment Gateways:
-
Under Configuration, click Payment Gateways.
-
For each active gateway:
-
Click Options.
-
Select Edit Gateway.
-
In the "Gateway Status" section, select Disabled.
-
Scroll to the bottom and click Update Payment Gateway.
-
-
-
Disable All Email Notifications: This will prevent any further automated emails from being sent to your customers.
-
Terminate All Subscriptions: Terminating subscriptions will stop all future billing. This action preserves all historical data related to the subscriptions, with the exception of their status and
expired_atfields.
Data Deletion Notice: Please be aware that all your site data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of closing the site. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you export any data you need to retain before this 30-day period expires.
