How do gift subscriptions work in Recurly Commerce?

Gift subscriptions allow customers to purchase subscriptions as gifts for others—helping you drive new customer acquisition, boost loyalty, and increase order value.

What is a gift subscription?

A gift subscription is a recurring subscription purchased by one customer and redeemed by someone else. The recipient can manage and personalize their subscription just like a regular subscriber.

How to enable gift subscriptions

1. Go to Subscription Plans in the Recurly Commerce app

2. Create or edit an existing offer

3. Scroll to the Subscription Options section

4. Toggle Add Gift Option on

5. Click Confirm or Save to apply changes

Note: The gift option will only appear for products included in the selected offer.
