Why does the total 'Converted' under Trial Performance not match the total converted_at subscriptions in the Subscriptions Export?

Merchants who want to lookup the converted trial subscriptions that comprise the 'Converted' number in the Trial Performance dashboard are able to obtain this data via the Subscriptions export --> filtering the converted_at column to only display subscriptions that have this field populated. (Subscriptions that do not have this field populated either 1) did not start as trials 2) did not have trials attached to the subscription)

However, you may have noticed that the total of subscriptions with a populated converted_at column may not match the total you are seeing for 'Converted' in the Trial Performance dashboard. Usually, the issue is that the merchant will see a higher number of subscriptions with a populated 'Converted_at' field than the total displayed in the Trial Performance dashboard for 'Converted.'

The reason for this is that in order for a subscription to be included in the Converted number in the dashboard, the subscription MUST have been activated with a $0 free trial invoice and then converted to a >$0, paid invoice in that month's timeframe.

If you have subscriptions for a plan that has a free trial attached to it BUT you configure them to skip the trial and charge >$0 immediately upon activation, then those subscriptions will appear in the Subscriptions export with a populated 'Converted_at' field BUT will NOT be included in the 'Converted' total in the Trial Performance dashboard.

Because of this difference, we advise that if you encounter this discrepancy between the dashboard and the export, you review each subscription in the export (with a populated converted_at field) to see if they were activated with a free trial or paid immediately. This will help you match up the totals between the two reports!
