If you are trying to update an invoice after you have closed your books, you'll likely get the "Account Period Closed, Cannot Update Through Services API" error in Recurly.
To resolve this, you will have to reopen this period in QBO:
- Click on the Gear Icon.
- Select Account & Settings.
- Click on Advanced.
- Click on the Edit icon in the Accounting section.
- Uncheck the box for Close The Books and click Save.
Some merchants do not have the option to reopen their books, so in that case, you'll have to ignore the error (you'll see the option in Recurly in the box for the error) or account for it within QBO.
