What is the relationship between Recurly, the gateway, and the merchant account?

Recurly will store and manage the customer's data on our backend. This includes subscriptions, invoices, transactions, and their billing information. When a new transaction is created, we will then push that transaction's data alongside the billing information over to the payment gateway for processing. Once the transaction has been processed, the gateway will then work with the merchant account provider to properly deposit the correct amount within your personal bank account, and withdraw the same amount from the customer's bank.

While Recurly and the payment gateway do connect directly and have a relationship, we do not have any direct connection to the merchant account itself. Any issues with the merchant account will need to be discussed with the gateway and the merchant account provider.
