How can I close my account?

If you've decided to leave the Recurly service, you can choose to close your site by going to Admin then, Recurly Account at the bottom left-hand side of your user interface and Close Your Site. Prior to doing this, you will want to disable all of your email notifications to prevent any further communication from being sent to your clients and billing will stop.

As a precaution, you can also follow these steps before closing to ensure billing and notifications cease for subscriptions still being processed in your Recurly site:

1. Under Configuration, click Payment Gateways.
   1. For each active gateway: Click Options ➤ Edit Gateway.
   2. In the Gateway Status section select Disabled.
   3. Scroll to the bottom and click Update Payment Gateway.

3. Terminate all subscriptions; this will preserve all data with the exception of status and expired_at fields.

Please know that all site data is deleted within 30 days of closing the site. Therefore, we recommend that you export the data you need before that time period.
